X marks the spot

This works lean towards more about the movement of the pigment and the manipulation of the suspended pigment atop the paper. Responding to colour and the medium itself! It’s about not making that perfect mark too soon in the painting, making the background translucent to feature the history of the painting..... I like to refer to artwork painted in contemporary Watercolour and Inks as “living works of art.” Translating places into pigments, into works of art that hold a place within them a connection that resonates with the viewer! Ultimately, my work seeks to reframe watercolour within the context of contemporary art, challenging preconceived notions of what this medium can achieve."
