Shared Vision, 'Numa Creek'

This painting was created by several of the members of the Riverview Artists. Once a year we hold our Shared Vision Event where each artist starts a painting, working with their preferred medium (oil, watercolour, acrylic or mixed media) and lays down the preliminary composition in 30 minutes. At that time the brushes and paint are left with the painting and the artist moves on to the next creation. This process continues around the circuit until everyone has added their creative contribution to each of the paintings.

This group of local Calgary artists was organized in 1987 and features a variety of approximately 80 paintings per show and holds exhibitions about seven times each year. We try to encourage a variety of styles and techniques within the group so that the shows offer varied original paintings with variety, freshness and quality.
