Maureen Jarosh

Born in Calgary, Maureen Jarosh graduated from Alberta College of Art and Design in 1981, has received a painting major and a drawing minor. Moved to Quebec, sold and exhibited art full time while residing in Princeville, Quebec. Since the 1990’s she has been painting and selling art back in Calgary. She has donated art for fundraisers such as United Way, The Ostomy Association, and some performance art groups in Calgary. While raising children and being a music instructor at home, Maureen as always been involved in making art. Home and surroundings are her choice of reference- an intimate view of her weedy garden, or a walk not far from her house, or even an abstract view of tree branches through her kitchen window is the source of inspiration. The love of colour and paint and its own texture brings fun and life into different ideas of convention subject matters.

I saw your painting “___ Holly”? downtown Calgary and I loved it. Do you have a similar painting on a larger canvas?
    Thanks,

    RE: Maureen’s Early Abstract

Maureen, your work is excellent and timeless because it is free. It is easy to become one with your painting. Many times when life was challenging your abstract brought me comfort. It looks different every time that I gaze on it. The white disperses the darkness. The indigo blue and whites brings messenges. The red pink grounds me to family, and keeps me connected to passion, and the light pink reminds me of the love that you put in to your work when you were inspired to paint when you were a budding artist.
My husband bought it for me as a birthday gift, thirty years ago. I have an opportunity to move overseas, unfortunately, it needs to find a new home. Can you or any one else help me make this transaction?
