Conny Jager

Conny was born in Calgary, Alberta, and completed her Fine Arts Degree at the University of Lethbridge specializing in printmaking.  After post-secondary, Conny continued to create but discovered the instant gratification found from watercolour painting and since then, she has never looked back.  Conny is also an art teacher at Central Memorial High School, where she spends her days working in a variety of mediums and styles.

Conny’s main body of work is based in realism and her inspiration comes from her travels.  Conny is inspired by light and shadow, the reflections of water, and complex and layered shapes.   She loves to challenge herself with the technical aspects of painting and drawing, and choses imagery that will evoke or require new skills from her.   Complex watercolours easily fill those components but recently she has moved into more acrylic work.

Conny works mostly from photographs to capture the detail and love of perspective elements that remain a constant part of her artwork.  Conny does accept commissions if you have images of your travels that you would like captured in a painting.

What a lovely collection of works. I am myself studying water color painting (just a student), and can only admire the skills of Conny. Thanks for a lovely site, and best wishes.
