Lillian Munz *
Honorary Member – Founder of Riverview Artists
Lillian Munz has lived in Calgary most of her life. She was born in Edmonton and raised in the village of Barons, near Lethbridge. Lillian taught language arts and art in various junior high schools in Calgary for 25 years, and in Edmonton for three years. For three years she taught commercial subjects in Tanzania, East Africa, on a Canadian government contract with CIDA.
Lillian was a founding member of the Riverview Art Group in 1987. This ten- member group presented about eight shows a year in those days so the artists were kept busy preparing for these events. Lillian works in watercolour and acrylic, experimenting with various styles and techniques. At present (2009) she paints for four hours with a small group at the Bearspaw Historical School every Monday. This activity keeps the creative ideas flowing.

Hello Miss Munz
Former student of yours at Colonel Irvine JHS (I don’t think either of us wants to think about how many years ago….;-)
I was just thinking about you today and how much I enjoyed your classes and decided to google you and see if I could track you down. Sometimes the internet is a good thing…
So nice to see some of your work and to hear that you are as creative as ever! I hope all is well with you and that life is treating you well.
As a point of interest, I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, but the company I work for makes Prismacolor art products, so I’m lucky enough to rub shoulders with some talented people once in a while and pretend like I belong!
All the best
Glen Bailey
