Josephine Lelek*

Honorary Member – Founder of Riverview Artists

Josephine (Cush) Lelek was born in Loftus, Yorkshire, England. At school her artistic abilities were recognized and she won many awards for drawing and poster competitions. After training as a nurse, she emigrated to Canada, married and settled in Calgary where she and her husband Bill have raised five children. Josephine has always enjoyed painting in oils and acrylics. In 1987, she was a founding member of the Riverview Art Group along with her sister Sara, and two friends, Lillian Munz and Catherine McLay. In recent years she has enjoyed painting landscapes in western Australia when she and her husband have spent the winters visiting the families of their daughter and one of their sons.
