Bonnie Curran

Bonny Curran
Growing up on a farm in Southern Alberta instilled in me a life-long love of nature. Today, this love finds expression in hiking, gardening and painting.
Art played an important part in my long teaching career, but it wasn’t until 1991 that I began taking art classes myself. Over the years I have participated in painting classes at Alberta College of Art and Design, the University of Calgary, Chinook College, Red Deer College, numerous workshops and classes with the late Norman Brown.
Although watercolour was my first love, I also enjoy pastel, coloured pencil and acrylic. I enjoy painting a variety of things, though I must admit that flowers, with their endless variety of shapes, colours, shadows and edges, hold a special attraction for me. My garden, hiking in the Kananaskis and recently, travel in Africa provide many subjects for painting.
Membership in such groups as Riverview Artists, Art Horizons and (formerly) the Federation of Canadian Artists, has provided me with an opportunity to display and my work and to benefit from the friendship and knowledge of many talented artists.
